About The Position

An Early Childhood Specialist - Early Childhood Education is responsible to the County Superintendent and works under the direct supervision of the designated manager(s). The Early Childhood Specialist - Early Childhood Education works with family child care providers and center-based teachers with increasing the quality of early learning programs. This position is grant funded which is renewed under the provisions of the grantor of the contract. The current grant is funded through 9/30/2027. Your position, therefore, is contingent upon continuation of funding of these grants and satisfactory job performance. The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Specialist position is an inclusion-focused role that provides CalBLOOM-aligned coaching and job-embedded support within classrooms. ECE Specialists model UDL strategies, facilitate reflective practice, and support co-teaching teams in integrating inclusive practices into daily instruction. With backgrounds in early childhood or special education and expertise in evidence-based practices such as UDL and the Pyramid Model, they bridge theory to practice and ensure high-quality implementation. This role is supported by dedicated leadership time, professional development, and structured collaboration opportunities, allowing teams to plan, reflect, and continuously improve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in child development or related field required.
  • A Master Teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is required.
  • Must currently have or must obtain Pediatric CPR/First Aid/Health and Safety Training certification within 90 days of employment.
  • If hired, must provide proof of a valid California driver’s license.
  • Copy of Transcript (Proof of Bachelor's degree in Child Development or related field)
  • Credential Copy (A Master Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is required.)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two Letters of Recommendation are required-each letter must be signed and dated)
  • Resume

Nice To Haves

  • A Site Supervisor Permit or higher issued by the CTC is preferred.
