About The Position

The Student Success Coordinator promotes student engagement, attendance, behavioral success, and school connectedness through proactive student support, family engagement, intervention coordination, and relationship-building. This position works collaboratively with building administration, students, families, staff, and community partners to remove barriers to student success and help create a positive and supportive school environment. Support students and families with successful transitions between the Alternative Learning Center and their home high school by facilitating communication, monitoring progress, and coordinating support services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Experience using student data to monitor attendance, engagement, behavior, and overall student success.
  • Commitment to fostering student engagement, school connectedness, personal responsibility, and positive school culture.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a student support environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred in Education, Student Services, Educational Leadership, Youth Development, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with secondary students, at-risk youth, or alternative education populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor student attendance, engagement, behavior, and overall progress, identifying students who may require additional support and intervention.
  • Meet regularly with students and families to develop goals, address barriers to success, and promote accountability and positive decision-making.
  • Monitor student attendance and coordinate intervention strategies to improve engagement, reduce chronic absenteeism, and support student success.
  • Implement proactive intervention strategies to improve attendance, engagement, behavior, and school participation.
  • Participate in student discipline, restorative practices, and conflict resolution processes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate restorative practices, conflict resolution, and other student support interventions.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and community agencies to connect students with appropriate resources and supports.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, employers, colleges, and agencies to expand student support and postsecondary opportunities.
  • Support student orientation, onboarding, and integration into the school community.
  • Assist with building operations that support student success, engagement, attendance, and graduation outcomes.
  • Assist with student supervision, behavior management, and implementation of school expectations and policies.
  • Support school-wide initiatives related to student engagement, school climate, attendance improvement, positive behavior, and graduation attainment.
  • Assist with state, district, and building assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement student support plans and intervention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student interventions and support services.
  • Serve as the building liaison for Graduation Alliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
