About The Position
Join ASMSA’s Mission to Shape Arkansas’ Brightest Minds! The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA) is seeking a Student Success Coordinator (SSC) to join a dedicated team committed to the academic and personal growth of ASMSA students. This role involves mentoring, coaching, advising, and advocating for students, working closely with students, families, faculty, and national partners to support scholars' ambitions in areas such as prestigious internships, research opportunities, or scholarships. ASMSA is a public, residential high school for academically gifted sophomores, juniors, and seniors, located in historic downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Requirements
- A student-centered professional with experience in counseling, higher education, or student services
- A strong communicator with a passion for working with gifted students and their families
- Tech-savvy, organized, and energized by collaborative problem-solving
- Adept at relationship-building with universities and educational partners
- Committed to excellence, equity, and meaningful mentorship
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related writing-intensive field
- Experience in academic advising, university admissions, or school counseling
- Skilled in teaching, group facilitation, or workshop delivery
Responsibilities
- Develop personalized academic profiles and success plans
- Write and implement support plans
- Guide students through the course registration process
- Guide students and parents through the college counseling process
- Identify and support students applying for elite competitions and summer research experiences
- Collaborate with faculty to promote student engagement, growth, and achievement
- Contribute your strengths to a dynamic team dedicated to educational innovation
