About The Position

This position involves working on-call to provide academic and motivational support to students. The role focuses on helping students improve their academic performance, develop study skills, and navigate college and financial aid applications. The schedule is primarily Sunday-Thursday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, though it may vary based on business needs. Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (for $25/hour rate)
  • Ability to assist students with academic improvement, organization techniques, and subject matter understanding.
  • Skills in guiding students to develop positive attitudes, self-confidence, and motivation.
  • Proficiency in assisting with college and financial aid applications, including FAFSA and Oklahoma Promise.
  • Ability to assist with ACT preparation.
  • Capability to verify and track student attendance.
  • Skills in observing student understanding and providing assistance.
  • Ability to contribute to college/career event planning.

Responsibilities

  • Meets regularly with students requiring academic improvement, organization techniques, providing assistance in a better understanding of a specific subject, developing basic skills and study skills, with or without computer-aided instruction.
  • Provide guidance to students in developing positive attitudes, self-confidence, and high level of motivation.
  • Assist students with college and financial aid applications by providing clarifications and explanations for questions, gathering required documents, and step-by-step instructional help.
  • Assist students with ACT prep in all areas of test and providing assistance in a better understanding is what is expected on the test.
  • Assist students and Jones Academy College/Career Counselor with FAFSA and Oklahoma Promise applications by collecting needed documentation, step-by-step guidance, and application review.
  • Verify and track attendance by making sure students sign in and out on the sheets provided.
  • Observe student understanding of the subject matter and provide assistance.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of periodic college/career nights.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
