About The Position

The Newman University Athletic Department is seeking dependable and responsible student workers to support the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. This role requires attendance and active participation during various sporting events. The position offers a maximum of 20 hours per week, with varying evening and weekend schedules. The pay rate is $8.25 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (12 credit hours per semester).
• General knowledge of athletic events.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Ability to perform some heavy lifting and moving of equipment.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Background in sports preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down equipment before and after games.
• Record live statistics during games.
• Update social media during games.
• Assist with scoreboard operation.
• Operate public address systems.
• Manage music and audio functions during games.
• Operate the camera and live streaming monitor.
• Occasionally write game stories.
• Provide graphic design or photography services.
