Sports Information Assistant - Part Time
About The Position
The Sports Information Assistant coordinates live video streaming for home sporting events at various campus venues and supports daily operations of the Sports Information office under the Director of Sports Information. The position helps maintain team statistics and program records, manages athletics media and game-day equipment, and completes post-event reporting and documentation. The assistant coordinates department photography and videography, including headshots, team photos, media day, promotional videos, and game-day action photos. The role also contributes photography, video, and graphics to McMurry Athletics’ social media accounts; assists with post-game recaps for select sports; and helps recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student workers. The assistant supports special athletic events, including the Wally Award ceremony and Jimmy Lee Pierce Golf Classic, and takes on other projects and duties as assigned and agreed upon by the Sports Information Director and Athletics Director.
Requirements
- Experience with NCAA live stats and Presto stats.
- Proficiency with video and live-stream equipment and photography.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in sports information, media relations, broadcasting, or a related role.
Responsibilities

- Assist with daily operations of the Sports Information office, working under the Director of Sports Information.
- Maintain and oversee athletics media and game-day equipment, and manage post-event reporting and documentation.
- Coordinate department photography and videography, including headshots, team photos, media day, promotional videos, and game-day action photos.
- Help create and manage photography, videography, and graphics for the McMurry Athletics social media portfolio, including Instagram, Facebook, and X.
- Assist in writing post-game recaps for select sports.
- Assist with recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising student workers and assistants.
- Support special athletic events, including the Wally Award ceremony and Jimmy Lee Pierce Golf Classic.
- Assume other projects and duties as assigned and agreed upon by the Sports Information Director and Athletics Director.
