About The Position

Waubonsee Community College is seeking a Student Retention Analyst to provide comprehensive technical oversight, management, and support for the student retention platform (EAB Navigate). This role involves reporting and visualization of retention and success data, utilizing information from various sources like SIS, data warehouse, and the retention platform to generate reports for student communication and departmental metrics. The Analyst reports to the Student Retention Manager and supports the Retention department, Student Success and Retention division, and campus partners.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
At least one year of technical experience including system maintenance and testing, running and troubleshooting production jobs, and report production.
Strong background in database structure/functions and computer applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel pivot tables and data visualization required.
Experience pulling and combining data from different data sources required.

Nice To Haves

Power BI or Tableau experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as Application Administrator for student retention platform (EAB Navigate), acting as the main point of contact, configuring settings, permissions, activating users, and triaging issues.
Lead onboarding and support for new/current users of the student retention platform, maintaining training documents and facilitating user training.
Collaborate with Information Technology and EAB's technology team to resolve data integration issues.
Act as a subject matter expert for EAB Navigate, staying updated on feature updates and best practices.
Collect, compile, validate, and distribute data from various sources (SIS, data warehouse, retention platform, surveys) for retention efforts.
Utilize EAB Navigate, PowerBI, and/or Excel to build and maintain data visualizations and pivot tables for reporting on student appointments, academic alerts, probation modules, campaign results, and other retention data.
Prepare and present reports of data results, explaining findings to leadership and stakeholders.
Analyze student data for trends and patterns (predictive analytics, course insights, historical completion data) to identify at-risk student populations and areas for improvement.
Analyze student data related to outreach outcomes to assess the success of interventions and services.
Create reports demonstrating divisional activity, intervention effectiveness, and retention risks.
Support the holds processes for the Student Success and Retention division (first-semester, non-degree, academic probation students).
Collaborate with campus partners (IT, Institutional Effectiveness, Registration and Records) to ensure shared data definitions, usage, and validity.
