The work includes analyzing large-scale patient record databases with OMOP and OHDSI tools; developing AI, machine learning, and LLM pipelines; building NLP systems for unstructured clinical text and biomedical concept extraction; and writing code to process health data and automate analytical workflows. The student will collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams, participate in weekly meetings, and support analyses and preparation of academic publications.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UNM.
  • Be enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM during the fall and spring semesters; audit hours do not count.
