About The Position
This position is for a part-time undergraduate student to assist with field, greenhouse, and laboratory research within the Field Crops Weed Science Program at Oregon State University (OSU). The student will gain hands-on experience in weed science, crop production, and agricultural research. Requirements
- Academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a course of study.
- Meet Academic Standing Requirements.
- Meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard (e.g., 6 credit hours per term for undergraduate students).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to conduct field work.
- Must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence.
- Be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per OSU standards.
Nice To Haves
- Interest or background in crop science, agronomy, weed science, biology, or related areas.
- Previous experience with fieldwork, greenhouse work, or lab research.
Responsibilities
- Assist with field and greenhouse research, including setup, maintenance, data collection, and harvest.
- Assist with laboratory work, sample processing, and data entry.
- Maintain clean and safe research areas and equipment.
- Follow research and safety protocols.
