About The Position

The student research assistant will support Dr. Glynn’s research in psychology and health-sciences. Dr. Glynn’s research projects investigate maternal health and how early life experiences affect child health and development. The primary role of the student researcher will be administering study assessments in a longitudinal cohort of three-year-old children and their mothers. The student will be expected to complete IRB and laboratory training, maintain strict participant confidentiality, and commit to involvement with the project for at least 2 semesters. Flexible hours including some evenings or weekends, average 10 hrs/week, variable up to 19 hours. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a research setting and would be a good fit for students interested in psychology, health and behavioral sciences research.

Requirements

  • Current student with an interest in psychology, health sciences, behavioral sciences, or related research fields.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and professionalism in completing assigned tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a research team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and research integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with participant visits by providing support during research-related activities and appointments.
  • Enter and maintain research data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform behavioral coding
  • Organize, label, and maintain biosamples in accordance with established protocols.
  • Complete general clerical and administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, scanning, and record maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
