About The Position
The Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC) is seeking motivated students looking to gain hands-on experience in supporting computational research. In this position, students will work directly with ARCC staff on a variety of projects and tasks in support of meeting ARCC team goals. This work may include assisting ARCC with user support, coding/scripting, technical research, or systems administration projects and tasks as requested by ARCC Staff or university researchers.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a University of Wyoming degree program
- Must be in-person on campus
- Ability to sign a confidentiality agreement
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to follow detailed processes and verbal instruction
- Flexibility to perform various types of work as assigned
- Strong ability to learn new technological concepts
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Excellent computer skills, including competency in Linux command line and at least one scripting language such as Python, R, Bash, etc.
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Support the ARCC team as assigned
- Supervised work in accomplishing ARCC team goals
- Perform other office related tasks and duties as assigned
