The Department of Enrollment Management and Student Success at UNM-Valencia is seeking a highly motivated person to join our recruitment and outreach team. The Student Recruiter will conduct outreach to prospective students, including high school students, adult learners, and transfer students. Responsibilities include visiting schools, community organizations, and businesses; delivering presentations; participating in college fairs, information sessions, and community events; and arranging and conducting campus tours for students, families, and groups. The recruiter will maintain relationships with school counselors, community partners, and campus departments to coordinate recruitment activities and respond to prospective student questions. The recruiter will follow up with prospective students by phone, email, text, and other approved methods; assist with admissions applications; and connect students with financial aid, placement, registration, academic advising, and other enrollment services. The position will provide general information about academic programs and career pathways, referring students to academic advisors for formal advising. Additional duties include maintaining prospective-student records, tracking recruitment activities, assisting with reports, and supporting recruitment campaigns, materials, and special projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, problem-solving, and database skills, along with the ability to work with diverse populations. Some evening and weekend work and regular travel throughout the service region, including Valencia, northern Socorro, and Torrance counties, are required. A valid driver's license is required for this position. This is a term position ending February 28, 2027, with possibility for extension. Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.
