About The Position

The Nahum Gelber Law Library is seeking a Student Project Assistant to participate in a major collection project involving the weeding and consolidation of the journal collection. This role will involve identifying items for weeding, placing them on a cart for verification, and shifting journals to optimize space in the basement. Additionally, the project includes shifting items from the 5th floor of the library to the storage area. This position is open to McGill undergraduate students only, with a preference for those eligible for Work Study. Applicants must indicate their faculty, program, current year, expected graduation date, and provide confirmation of Work Study eligibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimal or No Related Experience
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to clearly transmit and receive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with physical requirements: moving and lifting weights of up to 20kgs, handling dusty library materials, shelving and shifting books, bending, working while standing.
  • English spoken read and written and French spoken and read.
  • Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec.
  • McGill undergraduate student
