About The Position

The student Medical Assistant V is a temporary student position. Qualified candidates are enrolled in the School of Allied Medical Professions in either the physical or occupational therapy curriculums. This is a team member responsible for assisting staff physical/occupational therapists in their treatment of assigned patients. All patient care duties performed require supervision by a therapist. He/she is a member of the Rehabilitation department and is an important assistive component of the interdisciplinary medical team that strives to return the patient to his/her highest level of function. The student Medical Assistant V assists in the treatment of patients as needed on Saturdays/Sundays/Holidays and during the week on a scheduled basis. This position may also provide cross coverage of the Rehabilitation Division’s other locations/sites. Duties relating to the routine operation of the rehabilitation department, including departmental cleanliness, maintenance, patient transportation, clerical and non-patient care tasks may also be responsibilities of the Student Medical Assistant V. This position works under the direct supervision of the Team Leader.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in the School of Allied Medical Professions in either the physical or occupational therapy curriculums.
  • Minimum Qualifications Per Civil Service requirements.

  • A valid vehicle operator license is preferred.
