The 2L and 3L Student Practitioner (SJC Rule 3:03) Summer Internship is designed for law students who are seeking to gain on-their-feet experience practicing in state criminal court. Students will practice in the District Court under SJC Rule 3:03, maintaining their own caseload of approximately 20-30 cases and litigating every stage of a criminal case in the trial court, including arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial proceedings, motion practice and trials. Students will also raft pleadings for their cases, including certificates of discovery, oppositions to evidentiary motions, motions in Limine, and other trial documents. Students may complete the internship for school credit, if they are able to make an arrangement with their institution.
