The ECU Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology is seeking undergraduate students to assist during Spring 2027. The Gambling Research & Policy Initiative (GRPI), housed within the department, conducts research on gambling awareness, behavior, risk, and gambling-related harms. Its work includes North Carolina gambling behavior and risk prevalence studies, studies focused on marginalized groups, and other research aimed at addressing gaps in the field. The Student Peer Research Interviewer reports to the GRPI Director and supports a qualitative research study examining college student gambling experiences. The interviewer conducts peer-to-peer interviews with ECU students. This is temporary, project-based work. Students may work up to 20 hours per week, with an anticipated total of approximately 50 hours for the full project. Hours vary according to training, participant scheduling, interviews, and transcript-review needs.
