About The Position
The Student-Patient Care Support provides support to the patient care team and helps with patient-care tasks. The role offers students valuable patient-care experience and skills. Students will not handle urine or stool from patients receiving hazardous drugs, such as chemotherapy.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in high school or a higher educational institution, specialized professional training, or vocational training.
- Requires 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- High school students under 17 must be able to obtain an appropriate worker's permit under department of labor rules and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the patient care team with patient care.
- Provide water to patients.
- Assist patients with mobility.
- Help patients with meal orders and eating.
- Assist with patient hygiene.
- Take patient vital signs.
- Stock supplies.
- Set up patient rooms for admissions.
- Change linens.
