About The Position

The Patient Care Support Specialist participates in patient and family care and experience through teamwork, effective communication, and skills under the direction of an RN. The role provides support to ensure patients’ psychiatric and physical care needs are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• Prior experience delivering direct patient care in a psychiatric or mental health facility, typically acquired in one year.
• Knowledge of basic nursing aide functions, including assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, and documenting observations.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands in a changing environment under the direction of an RN.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to obtain patients’ vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and document observations.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant certification course.
