About The Position

The Student-Patient Care Support provides support to the patient care team by assisting with a range of patient care tasks. Students gain valuable patient care experience and skills. Students will not handle urine or stool from patients receiving hazardous drugs, such as chemotherapy.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in high school or a higher educational institution, specialized professional training, or vocational training.
• High school students under 17 must be able to obtain an appropriate worker's permit under Department of Labor rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide water to patients.
• Assist with patient mobility.
• Help patients with meal orders and eating.
• Assist with patient hygiene.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Stock supplies.
• Set up patient rooms for admissions.
• Change linens.
