About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor to teach Earthquake Engineering (CVG 5155) during the Fall 2026 semester. This position is limited to current students and involves delivering lectures and ensuring successful completion of mandatory training. Requirements

  • PhD minimum required.
  • Excellent background knowledge in Earthquake Engineering.
  • Excellent oral communication skills in English.
  • Must successfully complete WHMIS/lab safety courses and mandatory trainings.

Nice To Haves

  • PEng /EIT an asset.
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Earthquake Engineering (CVG 5155).
  • Deliver lectures on Thursdays from 18:00 to 21:00.
  • Successfully complete WHMIS/lab safety courses and other mandatory trainings.
  • Ensure all mandatory legislated training is completed as required by provincial law.
