About The Position

First Baptist Church Peachtree City is seeking a Student Pastor who will passionately minister to students by making disciples and leading them to “Go farther” with God’s global mission. Under the supervision of the Executive Pastor of Family Life, the Student Pastor serves on the Family Life Team to provide leadership and influence to the students (6th grade through 12th grade) and their families, volunteers, and paid staff members. This individual will be a minister who is called to student ministry and demonstrates previous experience in leading a strong ministry. The Student Pastor must enjoy hands-on engagement with students while also being an effective developer of leaders who will lead the ministry from the 125 students regularly attending FBC Peachtree City to the 200 who are connected to the FBC Peachtree City and throughout the 20,000 students that are spread throughout the 7 local high schools and their feeder schools in the area. A more detailed job description will be provided during the interview process. Under the direction of the Executive Pastor of Family Life the Student Pastor will excel as a: Team Player - Serving as an engaged member of the ministry staff for the overall mission of the church. Disciple-maker – Making and growing disciples personally and through the student ministry as he leads/oversees the student LIFE Group ministry, student worship experiences, and 3-5 missional/discipling events (camps, retreats, DNow, mission trips) annually. Ministry Leader – Overseeing the effective utilization of ministry resources. Regularly engaging with students (and/or their families) as well as volunteers, vendors, service providers, and the community. Developing and maintaining the budget and financial processes of the student ministry. Leader Developer – Making and growing leaders through the student ministry. Supervising/developing staff as well as leaders/church members for effective ministry achievement. Communicating with leaders/participants effectively for the accomplishment of the ministry. Faithful Follower - Active growing follower of Christ, sharing their faith and investing in others - modeling consistent Christ-like character, consistent biblical stewardship with personal and church resources, and a consistent commitment to the ministry and mission of the church and its leaders. Committed Pastor – College or seminary degree preferred, and with proven experience in leading student ministries who has a strong biblical teaching/preaching background with proven student teaching experience. Experienced in recruitment and training of leaders in student ministries who possesses excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write and engage people. Ministry Administrator - Excellent skills/experience in organization and strategic processes for student ministry who is proficient in computer/software for office usage and has adequate skills and/or abilities to utilize audio, video, and computer resources for ministry.
