About The Position

The Student Ministries Pastor serves on the Central Services Next Gen Team and provides leadership to the Student Ministry Team, as well as ministry to Junior and Senior High students and their families at all Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC) campuses. In all actions, this role reflects SVCC team leadership distinctives.

The role helps shape and implement ministry for students and their families across campuses, oversees Student Ministry budgeting, staffing, and initiatives, and works with the Central Services Next Gen Team to develop and deliver curriculum. The Student Ministries Pastor promotes consistent practices, experiences, and teaching across campuses; builds communication among ministry counterparts and campus pastors; observes and coaches campus Student Ministry staff; and partners with campus SV Students Directors to equip parents as spiritual leaders through resources, training, and intentional experiences.

Requirements

• Education and training, including earned degrees or other credentials, that has equipped the candidate for vocational ministry in a large ministry context.
• Four years of full-time experience in a church or related leadership role leading Student Ministries and teams through healthy ministry growth.
• Demonstrated spiritual maturity and character consistent with Biblical requirements for pastoral leadership.
• Ordination or eligibility for licensure at SVCC.
• Strategic ability to envision, develop systems and processes, and implement and drive projects and strategies through completion.
• Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Teamwork orientation and strength in recruiting, developing, and motivating others while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Agreement and alignment with SVCC’s mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of full-time pastoral experience in a multi-site church setting with over 2,000 regular members or attendees.

Responsibilities

• Serve on the Central Services Next Gen Team and influence the direction and implementation of ministry to students and their families across SVCC campuses.
• Provide oversight for Student Ministry budgeting, staffing, and ministry initiatives.
• Work with the Central Services Next Gen Team to determine, develop, and deliver Student Ministry curriculum on each campus.
• Lead and ensure consistent Student Ministries practices, behaviors, experiences, and teaching across campuses.
• Build clear and effective communication between Student Ministry counterparts and between the Central Services Next Gen Team and Campus Pastors.
• Observe Student Ministry staff on each campus and coach them toward effectiveness and SVCC cultural consistency as needed.
• Work with the Central Services Next Gen Team and campus SV Students Directors to equip parents as spiritual leaders through resources, training, and intentional experiences.
