About The Position

Living Stones Church in Reno, Nevada is looking for a passionate Student Ministries Director who loves building relationships with students and helping them grow into mature followers of Jesus. This leader will create fun, engaging environments where middle and high school students feel welcomed, known, and challenged to take their faith seriously. The right person will invest deeply in students, develop adult leaders, and help students learn how to follow Jesus in everyday life. This role is an opportunity to be part of a church that is serious about the gospel and reaching the next generation in Reno, aiming to raise up students who follow Jesus and impact their communities. Reno is a spiritually curious but largely unchurched city, making the mission here important. The ideal candidate will be a relational shepherd, culture builder, leader developer, missional gatherer, and a hungry initiator.

Requirements

Relational Shepherd: Builds genuine relationships with students and invests in their spiritual growth. Students feel known, valued, and cared for.
Culture Builder: Creates a fun, welcoming environment where students enjoy being present and feel comfortable inviting friends.
Leader Developer: Identifies and develops both student leaders and adult volunteers, creating a leadership culture rather than a personality-driven ministry.
Missional Gatherer: Loves lost students! Naturally draws students together and helps them invite others, cultivating a ministry that is outward-facing and relationally connected to the local school community.
Hungry Initiator: This leader brings ideas and improvements. They don’t wait to be told what to do — they experiment, innovate, and continually look for ways to strengthen the student culture.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the middle and high school student ministry of Living Stones Church.
Create engaging and welcoming environments where students want to attend and invite their friends.
Have fun!
Build meaningful relationships with students and invest in their spiritual growth.
Recruit, train, and shepherd adult volunteer leaders who disciple students.
Develop student leaders and help them grow in ownership of the ministry.
Facilitate experiences that help students grow spiritually (retreats, camps, leadership opportunities, discipleship environments).
Communicate regularly with parents and help them stay engaged in their students’ spiritual development.
Be present and engaged in the broader student community, including local schools and events.
Partner with church leadership to align student ministry with the overall mission and discipleship strategy of the church.
