About The Position

Federal work-study students only. University Annual Giving & Stewardship in the Office of Engagement is seeking applications for a federal work-study student employee who wants to learn more about fundraising and annual giving at UVA! This student will help write direct marketing appeals, impact pieces, and social media posts. Duties will also include editing and proofing drafts, and collecting and writing stories about UVA's alumni, students, faculty, staff, and donors. Other similar duties may be assigned within the Office of Engagement. Work will be remote, with periodic opportunities for in-person collaboration and responsibilities. The rate of pay is $19.50/hour. Scheduling is up to 20 hours a week, with a minimum of 10 hours a week. The University of Virginia is an equal opportunity employer.   • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be eligible for student employment and work-study (FWS).
  • Current UVA student.
  • Federal work-study eligible.
  • Resume and writing sample required.
