About The Position

Minerva University is seeking an experienced and passionate Student Life Coordinator for a full-time role. This position will support the Student Life team's functions, focusing on fostering student growth and development through experiential learning, building strong partnerships, and contributing to a healthy and inclusive student community in San Francisco. The role requires strong project management, creativity, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area.
  • Experience in experiential and programmatic design.
  • Experience in community building and conduct philosophies.
  • Experience in data organization.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of individuals around the world, with the ability to empathize and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Understanding of the primacy of effective communication in this role.
  • Conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the Weekly Minerva Talk program, potentially expanding it into a monthly speaker series.
  • Facilitating Staff-led City Experiences in conjunction with the Experiential Education Manager.
  • Owning the Milestone Event of Friendsgiving, with support from the City Team.
  • Supporting the development and execution of additional Milestone Events like Foundation Week, Elevation, Quinquatria, and Continuum.
  • Supporting the local Student Initiatives (SI) community in developing chapters and activities in San Francisco.
  • Managing the Pulse mid-semester survey and focus group.
  • Holding the emergency phone on a staff-weighted basis throughout the year, generally once per month on a weekend (Thursday evening to Monday morning), requiring staff to remain in the Bay Area for emergency response.
  • Assisting with residential life activities and events, including student move-out, key card creation, and roster maintenance.
  • Being visible to students during the Monday to Friday work week, with active contributions throughout the semester, including some weekend or evening work.
  • Hosting weekly office hours and 1-on-1 meetings with students as needed.
  • Maintaining and tracking an assigned budget on an ongoing basis, with monthly reconciliation.
  • Attending staff weekly planning meetings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
