About The Position

Last Chapter Pub Staff provide high-quality customer service to the Southern New Hampshire University community. General duties include providing free soda and snacks to student guests, selling beer and wine to guests age 21 or older on select nights, and assisting with programs in the space. Employees also support the Office of Student Involvement and may participate in special projects as assigned. The role requires flexible availability, including late nights and weekends, and a commitment to integrity and helping students build community and a sense of belonging at SNHU. Student employees are expected to provide world-class customer service, work independently when needed, maintain a positive attitude, arrive on time and remain through the end of their shifts, wear designated attire, support an inclusive community, and attend monthly staff meetings and employee appreciation events. The position offers opportunities to develop understanding of the Office of Student Involvement’s five values through on-the-job learning, conferences, individual staff training, department trainings, and celebrations.

Requirements

Must be a full-time enrolled student in an Undergraduate Day or Graduate Day Program.
Must be able to climb stairs, sit, stoop, walk, and carry 50 lbs. as needed.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, late nights, and weekends.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in difficult situations with little supervision.
Must maintain a positive attitude, arrive on time, and stay until the end of each shift.
Must wear appropriately designated and provided attire.
Must be committed to creating and supporting an inclusive community.
Must attend monthly staff meetings and employee appreciation events.

Responsibilities

Enforce Southern New Hampshire University and State of New Hampshire laws, regulations, and policies.
Check identification for all guests during wet shifts in accordance with state laws.
Operate the point-of-sale system for purchased snacks, smoothies, beer, wine, and promotional merchandise.
Prepare and serve food and beverages safely and hygienically, including soda, popcorn, cookies, smoothies, appetizers, and small snacks.
Assist with cleaning the Last Chapter Pub bar and kitchen, including washing surfaces, mopping floors, and cleaning ovens.
Assist guests with requests, including changing TV stations, renting pool table equipment, and event set-ups.
Assist Last Chapter Pub Managers with inventory and quality control as needed.
Assist with programs and special projects for the Office of Student Involvement as assigned.
Provide customer service, support an inclusive community, and attend monthly staff meetings and employee appreciation events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
