About The Position

The Y-12 National Security Complex is currently recruiting for summer 2027 internship opportunities in Production Operations. The Internship Program is a 10-12 week program that offers challenging assignments, projects and career development workshops to enhance your professional growth. You will also earn a competitive salary based on your discipline and academic class status. The 2027 intern program is scheduled to start on May 24, 2027 and conclude on July 29, 2027. The internship position will remain open until all candidates have been identified.

Requirements

• Working toward or have completed a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics/Science, or Industrial Engineering
• Engineering degree candidates must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited program
• Students who have graduated are eligible up to two years post-graduation
• Completed (at a minimum) your sophomore year in college
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or above if majoring in engineering
• Overall GPA of 2.8 or above for all other eligible majors
• Be a United States Citizen
• Completed online application
• Include a resume and current transcript, ensuring that your graduation date and GPA are listed on your resume
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance
• Pass a pre-placement physical, drug screening and background investigation
• U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants

Nice To Haves

• Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
• Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
• If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709.
• Medical requirements may apply.
