About The Position

CNS is currently recruiting for summer 2027 internship opportunities in the Enterprise Planning & Controls organization. The Internship Program is a 10 - 12 week program that offers challenging assignments, projects and career development workshops to enhance your professional growth. You will also earn a competitive salary based on your discipline and academic class status. The 2027 intern program is scheduled to start on May 24, 2027 and conclude on July 29, 2027. The internship position will remain open until all candidates have been identified.

Requirements

  • Working toward a degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Candidates pursuing an engineering degree must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited program.
  • Students who have graduated are eligible up to two years post-graduation.
  • Completed (at a minimum) your sophomore year in college.
  • Overall GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 or above if majoring in engineering, or 2.8 or above for all other eligible majors.
  • Be a United States Citizen.
  • A completed online application is required.
  • Must include a resume and current transcript, ensuring that your graduation date and GPA are listed on your resume.
  • Failure to attach a resume and transcript will eliminate you from the selection process.
  • Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
  • Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
  • If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709.
  • Medical requirements may apply.

  • Candidates accepting a job offer will be required to pass a pre-placement physical, drug screening and background investigation.
  • As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter.
  • U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants.
  • All employees are subject to being randomly selected for drug testing without advance notification.

Responsibilities

  • Complete an assigned summer project in support of production planning & controls.
  • MRP data and system optimization.
  • Research, develop, and effectively communicate data to leadership as assigned.
  • Work cross functionally with other organizations to complete assignments and tasks.
