About The Position

This position reports to the food services supervisor or designee. The intern will assist cooks and cook helpers in the preparation of student meals in compliance with government and management directives. This role involves maintaining health standards through clean-up and sanitation duties, providing necessary food supplies, and assisting with various food service tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Job Corps student.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
  • Must have their student card.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clean-up and sanitation duties in the food preparation, storage, and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards at all times.
  • Provide an adequate supply of food and transfer merchandise ingredients to the cooking area as instructed by the cook or designee.
  • Assist with student snack bar operations.
  • Clean outside areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in the Admin Building.
  • Clear dirty dishes, wash dishes, bus tables, and ensure serving areas are stocked with silverware and trays.
  • Work in the cafeteria on weekends or evenings to serve brunch and dinner.
