About The Position

Rancho California Water District is currently seeking candidates to fill a Student Intern - Finance vacancy. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate through excel spreadsheets and other financial systems. This person must have good attention to detail and be able to navigate multiple projects simultaneously. This position is located in Temecula, CA and no telework will be available.

Requirements

• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Accounting Software Programs
• Modern office methods and procedures
• Operational characteristics of word processing/spreadsheet/database program computer application
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Proper work safety standards
• Operate standard office equipment. (Phone, copier)
• Operate Personal Computer
• Comply with the District’s Safety, Health and Environmental policies
• Present professional image and communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing
• Organize and work on simultaneous assignments with attention to schedules and deadlines
• Maintain quality of work through attention to detail and accurate preparation of work papers as well as maintaining confidentiality of District information
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in an office workplace environment preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• Courses in Finance, preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects in Finance
• Assist staff during the District’s annual audit
• Assist with accounting functions
• Compile and organize financial and statistical data from various sources; prepare a wide variety of analyses, reports, statements, and supporting schedules and data entry
• Assist with month end closing process
• Assist with Accounts Payable functions
• Assist with general ledger reconcilliation
• Perform related duties as assigned
