Student Intern/Co-op
About The Position
The Student Intern/Co-op supports a defined project under the supervision of a faculty member, with project tasks and learning objectives established by the student and faculty member in line with educational goals. This is an entry-level support role, typically involving routine work under close supervision. The role is part of a student education setting within an integrated academic health care system and may involve access to protected health information as part of daily tasks. The position emphasizes continued learning, collaboration with peers and colleagues, and contributing to a positive work environment. The role requires organizational, technical, documentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The work is largely sedentary, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds and other movements such as walking, standing, reaching, and using office equipment. The pay range is $17.00–$20.77, based on full-time equivalent. Individual offers consider relevant experience, certifications, education, skills, and internal equity. Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent organizational and technical skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, under supervision, and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Work under a faculty member’s supervision on a defined project aligned with educational goals.
- Establish specific project tasks and learning objectives in collaboration with the faculty member.

- Maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues to contribute to group goals and a positive work environment.
- May access protected health information (PHI/HIPAA identifiers) as part of daily tasks.
