About The Position

Under direct supervision, this position serves as a support to the Grant PUD Accounting department. Responsible for handling multiple accounting and internal customer support-related services while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Demonstrates excellent computer skills, organizational habits, interpersonal communication, and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of and maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  • Currently admitted to and enrolled in an accredited high school, GED program, college, or university
  • Must provide proof of and maintain full time student status.

  • Skill in operating a personal computer and general office equipment; typing and entering data with speed and accuracy; utilizing MS office products; organization and prioritization; interpersonal skills including clear and concise communication both in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

  • Performs high-quality and professional day-to-day accounting activities; demonstrates a strong proficiency in computer literacy and all Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; understands the policies and procedures of Grant PUD and acts in a manner that coincides with Grant PUD’s strategic vision and standards.
  • Completes a variety of accounting related support tasks as assigned. This may include reviewing, preparing, and analyzing financial transactions and reports. These tasks may be related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Projects, General Ledger, budget to actual reports and financial statements.
  • Operates efficiently and effectively in an office environment providing excellent internal customer service.
  • Assists with a broad variety of basic administrative tasks, including scanning documents, organizing files and internal department communications.
  • Assists in developing documents, emails, memos, reports etc.; able to create professional documents to serve the specific needs of the department or situation; gathers correct information and shows integrity in presentation; shows clear grammar and written skills.
  • Handles various tasks throughout the day and can prioritize and organize efficiently; demonstrates high attention to detail and is task-oriented; participates in research and analytics where needed and provides support for the Accounting and Finance Staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan, and Grant PUD/IBEW Local 77 Code of Excellence. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.
  • Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.
