About The Position

Provides support to the Student Personnel Officer, with primary responsibility for overseeing the Student Government Association (SGA) and leadership programs. This role assists in coordinating departmental activities, implementing the Center’s Behavior Management System, entering data, and training staff and students on the system. The coordinator also meets with the Student Government to assess needs for changes within the program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) required.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years’ related experience in Juvenile Justice or Human Services preferred.
  • Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the SGA and provides support with activities and support of leadership programs on center; coordinates the SGA program.
  • Provides assistance and discusses infractions of Center rules and regulations with individual students based on Incident Reports from Residential Advisors, Instructors, and other staff.
  • Assists in distributing weekly restriction lists to appropriate Center personnel.
  • Assists in the maintenance of records of all activities relating to Center discipline.
  • Informs students of appropriate appointments to appear before the Disciplinary Council.
  • Assists in maintaining each student’s disciplinary record.
  • Informs students of required disciplinary hearings and the appropriate procedures for disciplinary decisions.
  • Assists in maintaining and submitting weekly activity reports, including percentage of class attendance, number of infractions reports, dorm incidents, dorm cleanliness, etc.
  • Assists in ensuring that students moving to another phase of the program meet disciplinary guidelines.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a liaison with juvenile and law enforcement agencies in relation to their influence on the student population.
  • Assists Student Personnel Manager in all aspects.
  • Works towards meeting performance management goals.
  • Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
  • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
  • Continuously helps students become more employable.
  • Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
