Mindrift is conducting a paid research study examining how people use phones, apps, and everyday digital tools, and how usage differs across languages and cultures. The study is intended to help researchers understand how Italian speakers use their devices so future products can better serve them. Participants will spend 1–3 days with the research team in Midtown Manhattan, walking researchers through their everyday phone and app use, sharing examples of their phone activity, and completing a short questionnaire. Participants decide what activity to include. Participation is voluntary, requires signing a consent form, and participants may ask questions or stop at any time. The study is for people aged 18 or older who live in New York City, are native Italian speakers who grew up in Switzerland, use Italian in daily life, have used a smartphone as their main personal phone for at least three years, and are comfortable communicating in English. Participants must be available for three consecutive days (Monday–Wednesday or Thursday–Saturday). The posting says the study starts October 16 on Friday. Applicants must not currently work for a tech or AI company. Register on Mindrift and complete a screening questionnaire; shortlisted applicants will be told their session dates. Compensation is $1,200–$1,600 for the full study.
