Mindrift is recruiting native German speakers who grew up in Switzerland for a paid, in-person research study about how people use phones, apps, and everyday digital tools across languages and cultures. Participants will spend 1–3 days with the research team in Midtown Manhattan, walking researchers through their daily phone and favorite-app use, sharing examples of everyday phone activity they choose to include, and completing a short questionnaire about their habits. Participation is voluntary, governed by a signed consent form, and participants may ask questions or stop at any time. The study is intended for adults currently living in New York City who use German in everyday life, have used a smartphone as their main personal phone for at least three years, can communicate comfortably in English, are available for three consecutive days, and are not currently employed by a technology or AI company. Participants receive $1,200–$1,600 for the full study. To apply, register on Mindrift and complete a short screening questionnaire; session dates will be confirmed after shortlisting.
