The Empire Center for Public Policy is seeking a Student Fellow for the Koch Internship Program (KIP), a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships. The program provides professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at nonprofit organizations addressing policy challenges. The Empire Center promotes New York policy reforms grounded in free-market principles, personal responsibility, and effective, accountable government, and works to inform policymakers, the news media, and the public through research papers, policy briefings, commentaries, and conferences. Student Fellows are paired with Empire Center researchers working in areas such as taxes, government transparency, education, energy, and healthcare. Fellows learn analysis skills and apply them to projects, with the goal of being named an author on an Empire Center report or other publication. The position offers a stipend of $7,500 for full-time participants working approximately 32 hours per week at the partner organization, or $5,500 for part-time participants working approximately 24 hours per week. All participants must attend the entirety of the online and on-site KIP programming. Applicants are encouraged to begin the admissions process early. Successful candidates interview with both the nonprofit partner organization and Stand Together Fellowships staff. Eligible candidates must be located in and authorized to work in the United States throughout the program. Undergraduate, graduate, and law students, as well as recent graduates and other early-career professionals, are encouraged to apply.
