About The Position

The Centerwell Student Extern position provides medical students with supervised clinical exposure in internal medicine as part of their formal educational program. The extern will work under minimal direction, within established departmental protocols, and will be expected to demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to quality care. Requirements

• Selected for the Kansas City University School of Osteopathic Medicine Internal Medicine Clerkship, with assignment at Centerwell Bannister Rd.
• Eligible to work in the United States (Social Security Number required as part of the application).
• Submission of a written attestation that you do not have a felony record.
• Availability for the entire rotation period from October 12 – November 8, 2026.
• Demonstrated passion for enhancing patient and consumer healthcare experiences.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Active involvement in campus activities and/or community service.
• Expressed interest in a career in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervised clinical exposure in internal medicine.
• Work under minimal direction within established departmental protocols.
• Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to quality care.
• Complete all onboarding requirements, including submission of required documentation and forms for Conviva and university records.
• Work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST for the entire rotation period.
