About The Position

This position is for a Student Ensemble Assistant specializing in Handbells. The primary purpose is to aid in hauling handbell equipment and assisting with handbell maintenance. The role involves setting up equipment for three different handbell choirs throughout the year, requiring an understanding of how each setup differs based on the repertoire. Light maintenance on the bells will also be performed. Transferable skills include organization.

Requirements

• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Well organized.
• Able to read handbell music.
• Crouching, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
• Operating hand tools.
• Driving to perform the essential functions.
• Ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Haul all handbell equipment, some of which is quite heavy.
• Perform approximately twenty-five set-ups for three different handbell choirs during the year.
• Read handbell music and understand how each set up is different depending on the repertoire.
• Perform light maintenance on the bells.
