About The Position
RESPEC is hiring a temporary, part-time water resources engineering intern for its Denver, Colorado office for summer 2027. The internship is intended to help the intern grow their knowledge and experience in water resources engineering. The position supports planning, designing, and constructing water resources projects, potentially involving stormwater, water and wastewater, and regulatory compliance. Interdisciplinary work with environmental science staff is anticipated.
Requirements
- Be pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or water resources engineering; juniors, seniors, and recent graduates within one year are encouraged to apply.
- Have knowledge, experience, or coursework in AutoCAD or similar software and/or GIS.
- Hold a valid driver's license and be capable of field work.
- Have strong problem-solving and mathematics skills, especially spreadsheet skills.
Responsibilities
- Support planning, design, and construction of water resources engineering projects.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, calculations, and design.
- Prepare reports, figures, and technical documents.
- Perform computer-aided design and drafting using AutoCAD.
- Conduct GIS analysis.
- Perform field work and construction oversight.
- Participate in client meetings and interactions.
