About The Position

This position is a 12-month position. The ST-Engineer, Production assists with improvements to production safety, quality, capacity, reliability, cost per 1000 dosages, customer service and regulatory compliance in the Production department. As a member of a team, the ST-Engineer, Production works with others in Solid Dose in an attempt to reduce or eliminate non-value added activities or costs, while maintaining or improving quality, productivity and timelines of the projects being managed.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program.
  • Successful completion of third year in Engineering, Sciences or related technical field.
  • Ability to work within a team environment (as part of a team).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred School and Programs: University of Toronto, Ryerson, Humber College (Engineering, Sciences or related technical field).
  • Experience in coordinating project activities is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Production Technicians and the Production Technical team to understand and analyze production processes and equipment in order to make continuous improvements focusing on Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Manage resources to complete projects on schedule and create contingency plans to ensure minimal production impact.
  • Liaise regularly with Production Operations, Engineering, and Quality Assurance and SHE group to coordinate project activities.
  • Following Change Control requirement, coordinate the installation and commissioning of production equipment, including completing equipment installation and operational qualifications (IQ/OQs) for new and existing equipment, as required.
  • Seek out issues and recommend solutions for improvements in production processes, reliability and compliance to Production Operations, Engineering and Quality Assurance.
  • Generate maintenance and operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as required.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), SOPs and in accordance with established Safety Standards.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.
