This role involves conceptualizing, training, and overseeing the MUSE (Museum University Student Educator) program, which includes creating and leading student-led art-based activities for Museum Nights. The position also involves creating and administering adult programs for students and community members, such as Museum Nights, lectures, symposia, gallery talks, civil dialogues, workshops, and campus outreach events. Collaboration with curators, educators, faculty, artists, and community partners is essential to enrich programming. The role includes planning for visiting artists, scholars, and performers in connection with public education programs, organizing and leading academic class tours and presentations for various college disciplines, and representing the museum through interaction with university faculty and staff. Maintaining professional affiliations with colleagues at university art museums and galleries nationwide and attending/presenting at professional conferences are also key aspects. Additionally, the role involves recruiting, training, and supervising a corps of student volunteers for the education department and providing oversight for the paid internship program.
