About The Position

This position supports residential School of Social Work students through the entire cycle of their engagement at ACU while ensuring faculty remain engaged and supported in recruitment and retention efforts. The Student Engagement Coordinator is primarily responsible for student-facing and programmatic activities and events on the residential campus. This role requires the employee to be a professing Christian and be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

Requirements

Skilled communicator who demonstrates strong task management and event-planning abilities.
Keen initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with others to support the faculty and students in developing a cohesive and welcoming culture, especially outside of the classroom (e.g., implicit curriculum).
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social work or a related field.
Two years of experience in an area consistent with the expectations of this job highly preferred.
Experience in executing event-planning and external communication strategies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate in both verbal and written formats.
Computer competency, with knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, new technologies and software packages.
Ability to express care and discretion when navigating complex student situations.
Exhibits critical thinking and ability to take initiative.
Capacity to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, prospective students, and parents.
Organized and able to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Detail oriented and able to independently manage and prioritize competing objectives.

Responsibilities

Supporting BSSW and MSSW students through the entire cycle of their engagement at ACU, including recruiting, admissions, program completion, professional advising, and alumni relationships.
Working closely with the respective program directors and associate directors to schedule events for the School, including recruitment, programmatic, retention efforts, career development, and alumni recognition.
Fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that prioritizes retention efforts.
Supporting the coordination of School operations, including records keeping, financial management, oversight of student workers, and assisting faculty and director in other tasks related to performance of academic and administrative duties.
Engage with new incoming freshmen and graduate students.
Correspond with incoming students.
Check in with students during their first semester regarding program logistics.
Support with recruitment and retention plans.
Assist with the planning and preparation of recruiting events.
Attend recruiting events.
Coordinate logistics of retention events for freshman/sophomore undergraduate students and first year graduate students.
Check in with students as needed to note progress toward degree requirements.
Partnering with centralized advisors as needed.
Assist student organizations with maintaining their operations.
Serve as liaison between School and Alumni Relations.
Coordinate alumni tracking database and record-keeping related to graduates.
Facilitate alumni surveys and data to assist with recruiting and marketing efforts.
Support with hosting tours on Visit/Preview Days and other recruitment events as needed.
Schedule and manage calendar.
Provide input into marketing script to showcase the school.
Train and supervise students to assist with recruitment events.
Manage communication with prospects and faculty.
Coordinate BSSW program admission requirements and MSSW admissions processes.
Maintain updated list of inquiries, application statuses, and program admission statuses.
Communicate admission and financial aid decisions to prospective graduate students.
Maintain updated students files including class schedules, scholarship requirements and applications, and academic disciplinary statuses.
Support Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Committee operations.
Facilitate event management for various high-profile activities.
Coordinate advisory council meetings bi-annually.
Support logistics of meetings.
Coordinate high school outreach with faculty.
Coordinate professional advising and career development events with faculty.
Facilitate internal communication through frequent emails, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters.
Support various Chapel experiences.
Attend events in which students are involved as needed.
Engage in supportive relationships with students.
Assist with communication to students regarding relevant campus and community events, departmental announcements, job listings, etc.
Ensure the office spaces are welcoming, accessible, and well-organized.
Oversee consistency in catalog and program updates throughout handbooks, degree plans, marketing documents, websites, etc.
Ensure record keeping is up-to-date and secure.
Support the director in budget and financial management.
Initiate PAFs for adjuncts, student workers, graduate assistants, contractors, etc.
Coordinate budget revisions and transfers.
Coordinate purchasing card activities.
Maintain receipts and supervise student workers who assist.
Manage reallocations to proper budget lines.
Along with faculty, oversee student workers and graduate assistants.
Hiring, onboarding, ongoing training, prioritizing work, delegating responsibilities, approval of time, etc.
Supervisor student workers.
Support faculty with graduate assistant supervision.
Attend departmental meetings and document key take aways.
Maintain administrative calendars with all School, College and University deadlines and initiate coordination to completion.
Maintain internal office calendars with classroom schedules, events, birthdays, etc.
Coordinate any Interprofessional Education (IPE) or profession-specific credits, badges, etc.
Coordinate classroom schedules for internal office needs and requests as well as external requests.
Coordinate with facilities for necessary building maintenance and cleaning.
Recycling, shredding, and supply organization.
Ensuring classrooms and offices have necessary materials and supplies.
Reporting security, risk management, and safety issues.
Oversee the equipment operation and maintenance of the offices.
