About The Position

Grand Canyon University's Attendee Analytics Student Worker supports the development, management, and optimization of analytics, reporting, systems, and operational initiatives that advance the mission of the Office of Student Engagement. This position assists with business intelligence reporting, data analytics, Power BI development, workflow automation, system administration, and technology projects. The Student Worker contributes to data-driven decision making by supporting reporting processes, maintaining data accuracy, assisting with system improvements, and helping develop solutions that improve the student experience and departmental effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at Grand Canyon University, preferably pursuing Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology Management, Computer Science, Project Management, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0. (If a student is newly admitted to the University, the admission GPA is considered for this requirement.)
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their employment.
  • Uphold the University's Student Code of Conduct.
  • Follow HR employment workflow processes and pre-employment background checks.
  • Restricted work hours (maximum of 20 hours per week).
  • No longer eligible for a Student Worker position after all degree requirements for the undergraduate program of study are met.
  • Student Workers are part-time employees.
  • Student Worker positions may be revoked at any time if duties are not fulfilled satisfactorily.
  • Current Grand Canyon University student in good academic standing.
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI preferred.
  • Basic understanding of databases and data structures preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power Query and data transformation concepts preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms such as Monday.com and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Interest in business intelligence, data analytics, automation, or information systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or data science tools is a plus.
  • Experience with student organizations, student engagement, or higher education systems is preferred.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Project Management, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Interest in analytics, reporting, technology, automation, systems administration, or project management preferred.
  • Previous involvement in student organizations, campus leadership, student employment, or data-related projects is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, reporting tools, or technical systems is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Student Engagement Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
  • Collect, validate, transform, and organize data related to events, spaces, clubs, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Support data quality, reporting accuracy, and data governance efforts through routine audits and validation processes.
  • Assist in the creation of reports, presentations, scorecards, and performance metrics for departmental stakeholders.
  • Support retention, engagement, and student success analytics initiatives through data collection, reporting, and analysis.
  • Assist with research, assessment, and analytics projects designed to improve departmental effectiveness and student outcomes.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, tracking tools, and data management resources.
  • Support data imports, exports, integrations, and ETL-related processes used within Student Engagement reporting systems.
  • Assist in testing and implementing automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Support administration, development, and maintenance of Monday.com workspaces, boards, automations, forms, dashboards, and workflows.
  • Assist with administration, configuration, and continuous improvement initiatives within GCU Life and related student engagement platforms.
  • Document processes, reporting standards, system configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Support technology implementation projects and process improvement initiatives across the department.
  • Collaborate with Student Engagement staff to identify reporting needs and support data-driven decision making.
  • Research emerging trends, technologies, and best practices related to business intelligence, analytics, automation, and student engagement.
  • Assist with assessment, accreditation, strategic planning, and institutional reporting projects as assigned.
  • Provide operational, administrative, and technical support for Student Engagement analytics initiatives.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Graduate Assistant with departmental projects and special initiatives as assigned.
