Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in (final year or term) or recently graduated from a Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or equivalent technical program.
  • Knowledge of SQL for data validation and profiling, with a foundational understanding of data modeling and reporting concepts.
  • Some exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or similar through coursework, personal projects, or prior work experience.
  • Familiarity with data quality concepts such as completeness, accuracy, consistency, and lineage.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with clear written and verbal communication abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Azure data services such as Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, or Purview.
  • Experience with testing methodologies or QA tools in a data or software context.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate data outputs across reports, dashboards, datasets, and data pipelines to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
  • Execute test cases for data migration tasks, ELT/ETL processes, and analytics deliverables, documenting results and flagging discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to support root cause analysis and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining QA frameworks, checklists, and testing standards for data and analytics deliverables.
  • Support data profiling and validation activities to identify anomalies, duplicates, and inconsistencies across data sources.
  • Explore other areas of interest such as Data Governance, Data Security, or Master Data Management.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of test plans, validation results, and quality standards.
  • Perform other data quality-related duties as required.
