The College of Fine Arts is seeking a creative and engaged student to support the college’s communications team. The Student Communications Intern will help tell the stories of Fine Arts students, programs, performances, exhibitions, research and events through social media, photography, video, graphics and web content. Duties will include brainstorming ideas and researching, interviewing, writing and editing content. Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills are critical, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects that involve various tasks. The ability to keep projects moving forward is imperative. This position is especially well suited for a student who is connected to the Fine Arts community and interested in communications, storytelling, social media or digital content production. Preference may be given to students pursuing a major or minor within the College of Fine Arts. The Student Communications Intern will work under the direction of the College of Fine Arts communications staff. The position will provide hands-on experience in communications strategy, content creation, social media, visual storytelling and digital publishing, and will produce tangible work projects and published pieces.
