About The Position
A student carpenter shop worker will assist our full-time employees with various building maintenance tasks. Tasks may include organization, cleaning, light physical work, occasional use of power tools and other duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be a St. Olaf student
- Must complete safety training and any additional specialized training identified by facility supervisors pertinent to the Student Carpenter Shop Worker role.
- This position is dependent upon a clear background check.
- Self-starter
- Must have the ability to work both independently and as a team
- Able to receive and understand direction given by staff members
- Comfortable working with hand tools and modest physical labor
Responsibilities
- Assist full-time employees with various building maintenance tasks.
- Organization
- Cleaning
- Light physical work
- Occasional use of power tools
- Other duties as required
- Receive and return timely communications from the supervisor
- Complete projects as directed by supervisor or carpenter staff member
- Must wear appropriate work wear. Long pants and closed toe shoes. Baggy or loose-fitting clothing is prohibited.
- Complete safety training and any additional specialized training identified by facility supervisors pertinent to the Student Carpenter Shop Worker role.
