About The Position

Our team is seeking a motivated and skilled undergraduate student to join us in a part-time role, working 19 hours per week in the IT Department. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we aim to have the student worker start soon. The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences needs a student associate to assist with every day office duties in the Fall. Must be a University of Texas student and eligible for employment.

Requirements

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a relevant field of study.
Minimum basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Work-Study program requirements and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Assist in Network patching cables and ports log modifications in database.
Physically set up and move computers, as well as configure and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Prepare computers for salvage, including data removal and secure disposal of sensitive information.
Organize and maintain lab equipment and peripherals, ensuring that all items are in proper working order and stored safely.
Order supplies and equipment as needed, working within budget constraints and ensuring that all purchases align with departmental guidelines.
Assist in the management of inventory, tracking the status of equipment and ensuring that all items are accounted for.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot
