About The Position

This position supports the West Campus Ambassadors' media and communications efforts. The Student Associate will be responsible for creating, scheduling, and publishing social media and promotional content, monitoring social media channels, and responding to comments and messages. The role also involves assisting with the development and implementation of social media strategies, supporting in-person marketing initiatives, identifying social media trends and marketing opportunities, and collaborating with the University Safety team to produce various marketing materials. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current undergraduate student at UT Austin.
Understanding of social media management and content creation.
Ability to analyze and understand basic social media metrics.
Familiarity with Canva, Capcut or other creative software.
Creativity and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
U.S. work authorization is required.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience managing social media accounts
Intermediate graphic design and/or videography skills

Responsibilities

Create, schedule and publish social media and other promotional content.
Monitor social media channels, responding promptly to comments and messages.
Assist with developing and implementing social media strategies across platforms.
Help with in-person marketing initiatives such as tabling and West Campus community events.
Identify social media trends and marketing opportunities to incorporate them and enhance the West Campus Ambassadors' online presence.
Collaborate with the University Safety team to produce quality posts, press releases and other marketing materials.
Other related duties as assigned.
