About The Position

This is a Work-Study position for students attending UT Austin, supporting the faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies. Spring 2027 employment may be considered based on performance and securing a Spring 2027 work-study award. This position is in-person.

Requirements

  • Be awarded Federal Work-Study on Work-Study Verification (WSV)
  • Meet satisfactory academic progress standards as set by the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid
  • Must be enrolled in appropriate credit hours as required by the student's academic or non-academic title. Additional rules may apply in cases where stricter enrollment is required for Work-Study funds.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of administrative experience

Responsibilities

  • Copy and/or scan various office documents and check for accuracy
  • Monitor office supplies inventory management; communicate with supervisor when supplies need to be re-ordered
  • Assist in activities, events, and special projects in the department. Participate in processes and activities designed to establish an organizational culture
  • Assist with website(s) and social media management. Work in Canva to develop event promotional materials
  • Front desk and phone coverage
  • Other duties as assigned
