About The Position

The Student Assistant provides support for basic instruction in multiple digital media applications at the Sanford Media Center. This role involves working with patrons, answering instructional questions, and scheduling reservations through email, phone, and person-to-person interactions.

Requirements

• Current University of Alabama undergraduate student
• Experience working with at least (2) of the following: Final Cut Pro X, iMovie, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Logic, GarageBand or web design
• Some experience interacting with the public
• Willingness to learn and teach others different multimedia software
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

• Experience interacting with the public and providing customer service interactions
• At least three proficiencies and some familiarity with the following software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, Audition, Lightroom, etc.); Apple Creator Studio (Final Cut Pro, Logic, Motion, iMovie, etc.); Audacity; Ableton Live; FL Studio; Pro Tools; Affinity (Photo, Design, Publisher); Blender; Cinema 4D; Scanning Photos & Negatives; Recording with Digital Video Cameras; Working with Cameras with Interchangeable Lenses; Basic Understanding of Recording Audio; Basic Understanding of Virtual Instruments; Knowledge of Legacy Media
